Ok so I have looked through this guys portfolio and to be honest his work is not really my style however his solo exhibition in Paris : CRYSTALS & LASERS I have to say I really like. The quirky angles and the intense but also not completely block like quality of the coloured spray paint make the overall effect really mesmerising.

I literally love Evelin Kasikov’s work !!!

I love my sewing and stitches and this lady combines stitches with typographic design. I think the work she produces is amazing and t inspires me to want to create something using stitches. The design she does is so intricate and crisp to look at and example of her work is given below.

This is a really nice, clever idea. To be honest I just really like the idea of a Polaroid image blown up but to then recreate it into a different form by wrapping it round a neck, I think is beautiful . However I unfortunately cannot afford the $499 to get one.

Beautiful Interactive Piece

Right as most of you know I did Interactive Design at University and as you may also know I was not as excited about aspects of the course as my peers were. Coding didn’t seem to make me quiver with excitement and many things quite frankly boggled my mind. However all that time at uni did pursued me to challenge the forms that interactive design can take and i have to say that what i am about to show you is a stunning individual interactive piece.

A CD cover with a difference. This cover has been designed by Hubero Kororo a design company in the Czech Republic and was created for Ivan Palacký, a musician who plays an amplified knitting machine on it (which i think is an amazing idea). The CD cover starts off a plain white with clean and attractive typography layout and style. When the owner pulls a seal at the side to open the cover this creates some sort of chemical reaction which results in the snow white cover producing a stain which eventually grows out and covers the entire packaging turning it the colour of the inside.

I think what is so amazing with this project is that the individual that bought the CD can watch it change in front of them and that every CD will have a different reaction resulting in a different pattern meaning that every CD is individual. There is only 60 copies of this available and i am right now trying to get my hands on one. I am very scared that they will have all sold out. Keep your fingers crossed for me guys!!!

Now this is a project found by a lovely work college called Roasty (who has a very cool mustache). He saw this post and thought i would be intrested in Ink Calendar by Oscar Diaz.

This project is so simple and i think that is what gives it it’s charm. The ink is absorbed into the paper and reveals the date’s, each day a new number is embossed and filled with ink. Each month is represented by a different colour bottle of ink and new piece of embossed paper, the colors are based on a spectrum, which relates to a “color temperature scale”, each month having a color related to our perception of the weather on that month. The colors range from dark blue in December to three shades of green in spring or orange and red in the summer.

What a funny idea making designer packaging for food such as McDonald’s. I think the design and photography for these individual products are beautiful but i do have to say i think i find the Burberry Burger the funniest, still with it’s chavesque style but with a price tag.
